This is is done in the context of a caring Christian faith, with the service following the Church of England format.
Baptism and Thankgiving
- Thanksgiving - A Service of Thanksgiving is available for Parents/Guardians who want to come to Church to thank God for the gift of their child.
- Baptism (child) - The key aspect of Baptism is making a commitment to follow Jesus and being part of the local Church family in regular worship. The Parents and Godparents will therefore need to be baptised church members and regular in their church attendance as they will be making the promises of commitment on the child's behalf. The Parents/Godparents are required to attend a short time of Baptism preparation.
- Baptism (youth/adult) - The candidate is usually prepared using a course (Christianity Explored) prior to the baptism taking place in a Sunday service. There is the option of Baptism by immersion at Christ Church.
